T minus 41 days and counting...

Our wedding day is quickly approaching (a little more than a month away) and we hope that you guys are as excited as we are for the big day!  It’s been a long time since we last updated the blog... and you may be wondering if we’ve been stressed with all the planning?  Not really.  Mel runs a tight ship and she even has a wedding checklist where she diligently crosses off tasks that we’ve completed.

To date, most of our major items have been accounted for.  The church, venue, caterer, photographer, DJ and bartender have all been booked.  In the coming weeks we’ll post some information for our out of town guests regarding transportation around town, accommodations, and a list of places not to eat at (we don’t want your visit to be spoiled by bad food).

So if we have all the important tasks accomplished, what’s left?  The list of minor details seems endless and includes items like designing and making wedding favours; choosing the liturgy readings; appointing readers, ushers, altar servers and choir members; making the program for the ceremony; co-ordinating with the florist; choosing a song for the first dance; making the seating arrangements; creating a day of schedule for the photographers; and the list goes on and on... but it’s the details that make each wedding unique and truthfully we’re enjoying the wedding preparation process.

There is one task that we could use your help on.  Music!  Now I realize that taste in music is subjective but we could use your help.  If there are songs that you think are a must play, send us the band name and track title so we can check it out.  Equally as important, we will be creating a “No Play List”.  This list will include songs like Macarena, Mombo #5, Rihanna’s S&M and likely any Adam Lambert song.  As the list of crappy music out there is extensive, we could use your help to narrow down some major offenders, so send us the band name and track title that irks you the most!   Also, check out the poll on the side and vote for which song you think should be on the No Play List.

That’s all for now!
